I enjoy the heck out of projects like this one! I'm checking e-mails, reading through all the posts on the modelintermodal e-list, a gentleman by the name of Joe Pusey shares his photo gallery loaded with tons of great intermodal content. There are some terrific shots of UPS equipment, some of which happen to be of the "28' container-on-chassis" variety. I say to myself, "Self, you have quite a few 28' boxes, and a few of the Walthers containers have a chassis to go with them. So, why don't you..."

Within an hour, a container and a chassis were in the stripper bowl losing their overly thick Walthers paint jobs. Another post to the list for more photos, Brian K. shares some close ups - outstanding - just what I needed!!!

The project went fairly quick. It was basically just a matter of truing and re-assembling some of the previously assembled Walthers chassis, creating a new axle and adding some additional detail (brake cylinders, stablizer bar, front and rear hookups, reworked pintle hook, etc.). An even coat of black paint followed by some serious decal "bashing" and weathering yielded a pretty cool little chassis.
